You Need a Reliable Team for Spider Pest Control. That’s Us! Call (855) 682-2855
Spiders are one of the most common pests around a home, and they are so successful that they can thrive in most areas and conditions. Although one of the most prevalent phobias in the United States is arachnophobia (fear of spiders), they generally do not pose any threats to humans and are considered a nuisance pest. In fact, the presence of spiders may indicate an infestation with other pests, as these eight-legged arachnids are actually an effective natural pest control themselves.
Still, a spider infestation can be unsettling, especially when dealing with venomous species. Needless to say, homeowners would rather not share their living space with them. Spiders will reproduce fast if given the right conditions, so if you commonly see them or signs of their activity around your house, it’s time to take some preventive measures and, ultimately, call the experts.
At B & D Pest Solutions, we know how to deal with this type of problem effectively. If you want a reliable and professional team that you can trust to get the job done right the first time, give us a call for any spider pest control in NJ.

Types of Spiders
Spiders are easily identified by a few characteristics: they have eight legs, two or three pairs of eyes, don’t have wings and most of them will build webs to catch their prey. There are hundreds of spider species that you might find in your home, and they vary in size, behavior and possible threat to humans.
The vast majority of spiders can’t bite you, as their fangs are too small to penetrate your skin. Another good news about spiders is that they do not actively seek to bite you, and it will only be used as a defense mechanism in case you corner it, accidentally step or sit on it or try to kill it with your bare hands.
There are some species in the United States, though, that do pose a health threat to humans and other animals, and two of these species are the black widow and the brown recluse spider.

The Black Widow Spider
Rarely found indoors, this spider can inflict a painful bite that can quickly get infected or even pose a life threat to the victim. They are shiny black, about ½ inch long, and the female will display a spectacular red marking on her abdomen, in the shape of an hourglass. If you get bitten by a black widow spider, immediately apply an ice pack to the bitten area and call emergency services, as its neurotoxin can cause convulsions and even death in the next 12-24 hours from the incident.

The Brown Recluse Spider
This spider is much harder to identify than the Black Widow, since it doesn’t display any distinctive markings, and may be easily confused with other, non-threatening species. At a closer inspection, you will find the distinctive features of this formidable spider: it only has three pairs of eyes, compared to the usual four-pairs that most spiders display, and it has a violin-shaped marking on its cephalothorax. A brown recluse spider bite will start as a blister and develop into an ulcer that takes months to heal, and the victim might show other symptoms as well.
Preventing and Controlling a Spider Infestation
There are several methods of discouraging spiders from taking shelter in your home and use it as hunting grounds. For a start, our spider NJ exterminators will remove any spider webs and egg pouches found in the area, and will likely spray some barrier pesticide at entry points.
Spider control takes more than removing the existing spiders, and our pest control expert will instruct you on how to make your home less appealing for these critters. Eliminating debris, removing excess moisture and controlling other pests you may have are all important in ensuring there will be no more spiders lurking around your home.
Inspecting clothes, shoes, and groceries before you bring them inside will also help in preventing bites and making sure you are not carrying a spider inside your home. If you keep seeing spider webs inside your house, contact the experts for another inspection.
Spiders can be helpful, but they can also turn into a nuisance if their population gets out of control. Get in touch with B & D Pest Solutions for any spider pest control in NJ.
